Due to the effects of the novel coronavirus, the invitational performances by Tomomi Nishimoto and the Illuminart Philharmonic scheduled to be held from late December 2020 to early 2021 in cities around China have been canceled.
Nishimoto and the Illuminart Philharmonic were invited to perform 8 times in 7 major Chinese cities from late 2018 to early 2019. After the success of these performances, invitations for this year had been finalized, but due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, we received an official notice of the tour's cancelation after repeated cooperation and coordination with the Chinese side.

Nishimoto led successful performances in Asia, performing in Hong Kong in 2010, South Korea in 2010, and Taiwan in 2013. Having already gained popularity in China, in 2016 she led the China National Symphony Orchestra (at Peking University) to highly successful performances in Beijing and Shanghai.
In June 2018, she was invited for a performance commemorating the 40th year anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and China (at the National Centre for the Performing Arts) to perform Symphony No. 9 with the China National Symphony Orchestra, its chorus, and top Chinese soloists.
These performances were broadcast and written about on CGTN (the international English-language news broadcasting channel on the Chinese global television network of China Central Television, the nationally operated TV station of the People's Republic of China), the People's Daily, and more.
